Doggos
Our furry friends and walking doorbells! ; )
We love dogs!
Each has been through unknown traumas in early life and came to us either physically or emotionally damaged - or both - so they have their own fears and insecurities.
They may bark as people move around the property. Do not be alarmed, it is all talk and no action! We are lucky to have them looking out for us.
If you are afraid of dogs, please see Liese, she has an easy technique to help you! ✨
If you would like to visit a dog charity (and even adopt a Bali dog!) please ask us how.
You can also donate to @streetpaws.ch via a donation box in the Space Base 💗
Read on to learn a little about each one...
Tilly & Lucy
The two OG's were originally foster dogs and we, the half-way house.
The failed agreement left Tilly extremely insecure due to abandonment issues. This anxiety can make her especially yippy when we are not around. Sorry about that :(
She is capable of barking at you, even while you are patting her! If anyone is yipping at nothing, it’s her. She has calmed a lot now that she has more stability in her life.
The other OG, Lucy-Goosey, is a sucker for a snack and a belly rub. You’ll find her trying her luck at breakfast, out on the street and in neighbouring cafes pretending she is starving, but trust us, she is very well fed!
Kronk
Kronky boi is the guardian of our galaxy and alpha dog, with little legs and a heart of gold.
Originally from a place up the road, we first met him tightly tied up as a pup - he still has the scars around his neck to prove it... He used to run after us down the road whenever he heard our scooter coming.
He began to share lodgings between us and them, eventually deciding that life was better with us, moving in permanently and claiming us for himself.
He loves to hang out the front by day and seems to be getting a little cantankerous with age! Not to mention chonky... Never disturb him while he is sleeping please.
Ginger
Ginger-Bear is the most suspicious of all and often even barks at us!
She was a malnourished bag of bones, terrified of everything. Her nails were so long from living in the paddy fields, that her toes were crossed over and she was in constant, horrible pain.
It took Liese three weeks of patient approach to gain her trust to first be able to feed her and eventually to pat her. The same day that connection was established, Ginger moved in!
Casper
Casper came to us pink-skinned and half bald. He is the only other boy, the underdog male and such a pretty bundle of floof!
The cheekiest of the crew, he has an intense dislike for 2-wheelers ever since a bicycle fell on him. His machine-gun bark may seem threatening, but it’s just his wicked humour.
Next minute he’ll be in your room hanging out under the bed if you let him!
Willow
Willow-Bee is the only dog with zero trauma.
She showed up as a sweet and healthy young pup, a little sad, lost and unsure of herself.
It took just a few minutes for the pack to accept her and she has transformed into a playful, loveable (half-human) young lady who loves to chat (a-woo-woo-wooo!) and hang out on the beanbags by the pool.
She and Maisy are fun-loving besties, but also competing for position in the pack!
Maisy
Maisy-Moo is our newest addition.
She was very young, skinny and intensely terrified of being touched too much. She would urinate in panic if we tried to pick her up. She has made such great progress!
She can still be a little shy and wary, but is mostly super friendly now and loves a treat and a scratch in the right places.
